A look at Friday's trip to Fleetwood.

Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United travel to Highbury Stadium on Friday evening, in their third pre-season friendly encounter (19:00).

The Whites have played Guiseley AFC and Blackburn Rovers up to now, winning one and drawing one as they continue to improve their fitness ahead of the Premier League campaign getting underway next month.

In the home dugout at Highbury will be former Leeds manager, Simon Grayson. He is looking to mount a promotion push from League One, a task he has achieved before, memorably in the 2009/10 season at Elland Road.

Fleetwood have played five pre-season friendly matches so far. They began with victories over Radcliffe FC away from home, and Port Vale on home turf. Next up for the Cod Army was an away trip to Rochdale, which saw a thoroughly entertaining 3-3 draw played out.

Grayson’s side then went north and travelled over the border, taking on SPL side St Johnstone which resulted in a 0-0 draw.

Before taking on the Whites on Friday evening, Town’s latest clash was against fellow West Yorkshire side Huddersfield Town, a match Fleetwood won 2-1 courtesy of goals from Shayden Morris and Gerard Garner.

Where do they play?

Highbury Stadium is Fleetwood’s modern home! The ground has a capacity of 5,327 and it takes its name by being located just next to Highbury Avenue. The ground was opened in 1939, but has seen extensive redevelopment over previous years which has aligned with the club rising up the league pyramid. Leeds fans will be situated in the Percy Ronson Stand.  Jim's Bar, located at the stadium will be open from 4:45pm, with pints available from £2 and four bottles for £10.

Last time we met

Fleetwood Town 2 (Holloway 13, Hunter 111)

Leeds United 2 (Antonsson 89, Wood 94 pen)

Leeds win 5-4 on penalties.

An EFL Cup first round tie saw the Whites equalise late in the game, before also finishing level after extra-time. A penalty shoot-out was needed for Leeds to progress into the next round.
