FC Köln will be hoping to win their first Bundesliga match of the season tomorrow as they host high-flying Stuttgart.
Stuttgart have been the surprise package of the Bundesliga this season as they currently sit 3rd with 12 points in five games.
Additionally, they are the second top scorers in the league with striker Serhou Guirassy currently the top scoring player with 10 goals in five games.
Last season, Stuttgart finished in 16th place, narrowly avoiding relegation but they have exceeded expectation this season whilst Köln currently sit in 16th position, having finishing 11th last season and qualifying for the Europa Conference League in 7th the year before.
With Köln under pressure to deliver points, this game has come at a bad time for Steffen Baumgart’s side as they face a side that has scored in every match so far this season.
Injuries are also damaging the current situation as Köln will be without Jan Thielmann, Mathias Olesen and Eric Martel for this fixture however Damion Downs will be in contention to start after recovering from a cold.
Stuttgart will be without Nikolas Nartey and Thomas Kastanaras due to injury and Silas also looks to be a doubt after being substituted against Darmstadt last week due to an ankle injury.
This may see Deniz Undav or Jamie Leweling start the match in the winger position or even partner Guirassy in attack.
