Both clubs have started the group stage in fine form. Chelsea have recorded back-to-back wins over Paris Saint-Germain and Vllaznia while Real Madrid have taken four points from their two matches against the same opponents.
Chelsea manager Emma Hayes confirmed in the pre-match press conference that her side remain without Norwegian international defender Maren Mjelde who is struggling with a tendon issue. Danish international Pernille Harder is sidelined for a significant period with a hamstring injury while German midfielder Melanie Leupolz is still on maternity leave.
Real Madrid head coach Alberto Toril has no new injury concerns to deal with ahead of his side’s trip to South West London. Spanish forward Lorena Navarro remains sidelined with her injury but otherwise, The Whites have a full bill of health. Real Madrid have a perfect record against English clubs in the UEFA Women’s Champions League after dumping Manchester City out of the competition in each of the last two seasons.
