The Blues currently lead Manchester United and Arsenal by three points at the league summit and Emma Hayes’ side will be confident of going into the Christmas break top of the tree.
Chelsea manager Hayes is again without the services of Danish international midfielder Pernille Harder for her side’s latest match with the player out until after Christmas with a hamstring injury. Hayes could opt to make some changes to her starting line-up following a less than impressive performance against Real Madrid in the UEFA Women’s Champions League on Thursday. The Blues recorded a 1-1 draw in Spain but they were sloppy both in and out of possession.
Reading manager Kelly Chambers continues to juggle injuries within her squad. Grace Moloney, Emma Mukandi, Natasha Dowie, and Rachel Rowe were all missing as The Royals defeated Tottenham Hotspur last weekend while Canadian international Deanne Rose is out for the long-term.
The Barclays Women’s Super League fixture between Chelsea and Reading kicks-off at 6.45pm on Sunday evening. Tickets remain on-sale and can be purchased by clicking here.
