Chelsea and Manchester City will be looking to put their respective opening day disappointments behind them when they meet at Kingsmeadow on Sunday afternoon.

The Blues fell to a shock 2-1 defeat at Liverpool on opening weekend while Manchester City went down 4-3 in a thrilling match against Aston Villa at Villa Park.

Chelsea manager Emma Hayes has confirmed that she doesn’t have any new injury concerns to contend with. Danish international forward Pernille Harder continues to struggle with an injury and might not be in a position to start the contest. The player is likely to be handed a late fitness test ahead of the game. Hayes could opt to make some attacking changes given her side’s poor showing in the final third on Merseyside last weekend.

There is little change in the injury situation at Manchester City going into this weekend’s game. Head coach Gareth Taylor has confirmed that defender Alanna Kennedy could be fit enough to return to the bench. Ruby Mace and Yui Hasegawa remain sidelined with their respective injuries.
