Vitality Women’s FA Cup holders Chelsea will be hoping to tighten their grip on the trophy when they face Leicester City in a fifth round tie at Kingsmeadow on Saturday.

The Blues defeated Arsenal 3-0 at Wembley in last season’s final and their defence of the trophy got off to a solid start with a routine 3-1 victory at Aston Villa in the fourth round of this season’s competition last month.

Chelsea manager Emma Hayes has confirmed that she continues to be without a number of players through injury and illness. Captain Magda Eriksson and Norwegian international defender Maren Mjelde remain sidelined with injury while they have been joined in the treatment room by Erin Cuthbert. German international midfielder Melanie Leupolz continues to recover from long COVID.

Sigsworth joins Hannah Cain in being ruled out for the remainder of the season while Lachante Paul is also unavailable this weekend as she remains sidelined with a knee injury. First choice goalkeeper Kirstie Levell has returned to training following her injury.
