Chelsea will be hoping to win their group by beating Juventus in their latest UEFA Women’s Champions League group match at Kingsmeadow on Wednesday evening.

The Blues can secure top spot in Group A through a combination of potential results on Matchday 5, however, the simplest would be to defeat a Juventus side who also have qualification on their minds.

Chelsea manager Emma Hayes confirmed in her pre-match press conference that she has no new injury concerns to contend with following her side’s 3-0 Vitality Women’s FA Cup final victory over Arsenal at Wembley on Sunday. Defender Maren Mjelde and forward Lauren James will again be unavailable for selection with the pair still building up their fitness through specialised plans. Hayes is likely to field a strong XI in a bid to secure qualification for the quarter-finals with a game to spare.

Juventus arrive at Kingsmeadow occupying second position in the group and with the bonus of having a home game against minnows Servette FCCF on Matchday 6. The plan for the Italians will therefore be to end Wednesday evening ahead of third-placed side VfL Wolfsburg, a team who they currently lead by two points. Head coach Joe Montemurro remains without long term absentee Linda Sembrant while Valentina Cernoia is out with an ankle sprain.

The UEFA Women’s Champions League group fixture between Chelsea and Juventus at Kingsmeadow kicks-off at 8pm on Wednesday evening. Tickets are now on general sale and can be purchased by clicking here. Fans who are unable to attend the match can stream the action live on DAZN.
