Juventus take on Cagliari in Sardinia on Sunday night, looking to cement their spot in the league's top four following victory over Inter in their last Serie A match-up.

Ahead of Sunday's 20:45 CET kick-off, here's a rundown of interesting facts, team form and player numbers:

Head-to-head

  • Only AC Milan (47) have won more matches against Cagliari than Juventus (45) in Serie A. Sunday’s hosts have won just 12 of the 85 league matches played between the two sides, with 28 encounters ending in a draw.
  • Cagliari and Juventus have drawn their last two matches in Serie A, after five wins in a row for the Bianconeri. Only once have the pair drawn at least three matches in a row in the top-flight, between 1990 and 1992 (five in that case).
  • Since the beginning of 2010, Cagliari have won only one of their 26 Serie A matches against Juventus, losing on 20 occasions (with five draws): over that period, only Lazio (22) have beaten the Sardinians more times in the league.
  • The most frequent scoreline between Cagliari and Juventus in Serie A is 1-1, the final score of 17 previous meetings, the most recent being earlier this season.
  • Cagliari have lost 19 home matches against Juventus in Serie A (10W, 13D), against no team have they done worse in the competition (equal number of defeats against Inter and Milan).

Interesting Facts

  • After ending 2024 with four defeats in a row, Cagliari have lost only two of the seven matches played in Serie A since the start of the year (3W, 2D); after their 0-0 in their last encounter, the Sardinians could claim two clean sheets in a row with the same coach for the first time since May 2021, under the management of Leonardo Semplici.
  • Juventus (5399) are one strike away from scoring 5400 goals in Serie A; so far they have scored at least 35 more goals than any other team (second is Inter with 5364).
  • Juventus is the only team not to have conceded a goal from outside the box this season in the top five European leagues; the last goal conceded from distance by the Bianconeri was over a year ago (against Hellas Verona on 17 February 2024).
  • Cagliari have hit the woodwork 13 times (equal with Roma) so far this season, only Inter and Atalanta (14) have more.
  • Juventus have scored with 14 different scorers this campaign, alongside five other teams - only Inter with 17 count more.

  • Before Randal Kolo Muani (five goals and one assist), the last Juventus player to have been involved in at least one goal (between goals and assists) in each of his first four Serie A appearances for the Bianconeri was Kwadwo Asamoah in 2012.
  • Of the players who have already made at least 20 appearances in the league this season, Kenan Yildiz (25 - born on 4 May 2005) is the youngest.
  • Timothy Weah has scored five league goals this season, already a personal record in the top-flight between Italy and France. His previous best was the three goals he scored with Lille in both the 2020/21 and 2021/22 seasons.

  • Jakub Jankto scored his first Serie A goal against Juventus (on 15/10/2016 with Udinese), and also provided an assist in his most recent encounter against the Bianconeri (on 11/11/2023 with Cagliari).
