Brentford will be looking for a surprise victory on the final day of the 2022-23 Premier League season when they host the champions Manchester City at the Gtech Community Stadium.
Thomas Frank’s side are in good form having defeated West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur in their last two outings.
Their latest victory leaves them ninth in the standings, just two points behind seventh-placed Aston Villa.
Brentford could still secure the Europa Conference League spot, although the chances of that happening are slim.
They must beat the City on Sunday and hope that Villa and Spurs slip up in their final games.
Manchester City sealed their third successive Premier League title last weekend after Arsenal fell to a 1-0 defeat against Nottingham Forest.
Pep Guardiola’s side subsequently picked up a 1-0 win over Chelsea on Sunday before being held to a 1-1 draw at Brighton & Hove Albion in midweek.
Phil Foden’s 25th-minute strike put the Cityzens on course for another victory, but Julio Enciso scored a fantastic equaliser to secure a point for his side.
That hard-earned point has earned the Seagulls a top-six finish in the English top flight.
Following Sunday’s game, City will take on Manchester United in the FA Cup final on June 3 before their Champions League final with Inter Milan a week later.
Brentford will be without gambling addict Ivan Toney until January 2024. The Bees are also missing Pontus Jansson and Keane Lewis-Potter due to injury issues.
Phil Foden is doubtful for City, while Nathan Ake is also likely to sit out the match due to a thigh injury.
Brentford: Raya; Hickey, Mee, Pinnock, Henry; Jensen, Janelt, Onyeka; Mbeumo, Wissa, Schade.
Manchester City: Ortega; Lewis, Stones, Laporte, Gomez; Silva, Phillips, De Bruyne; Mahrez, Alvarez, Palmer.
Brentford vs Manchester City, as well as all other top-flight matches in England, can be watched via Premier League live streams.
Brentford will be more motivated for victory than City who have already secured the league title. But we don’t see them getting the maximum points due to the quality of City’s squad.
Brentford 1-1 Manchester City.
