Having just won the super cup midweek against Juventus, Inter are now on a mission to make it three wins out three matches in all competitions in 2022. Match tonight Sunday at 20:45 CET.

Inter take the short trip to Bergamo to face the other Nerazzurri in what might be the most difficult match in the calendar this season.

Atalanta have been in devastating attacking form this year, scoring eight goals in two matches. That said, the hosts are missing quite a few important players through injury, most notably Duvan Zapata and Roben Gosens.

But Interisti would be wise in not counting their chickens just yet, Gian Piero Gasperini’s Atalanta are such a well drilled machine that a few absences probably won’t lead to a drastic reduction in attacking threat or danger. In Zapata’s absence, Gasp will deploy Luis Muriel instead; an equally scary proposition.

Inter’s biggest technical challenge will be ensuring they can transition quickly and efficiently, whether its from defense into attack or vice versa.

Marcelo Brozovic and Alessandro Bastoni will be both be critical in moving the ball out of defense and into attack, either off to one of the wings, or to Hakan Calhanoglu who will then be tasked with orchestrating the final approach.

Inter must impose their will on Atalanta, the Bergamaschi don’t fare too well when pinned back and pushed when in possession.

That said, the hosts are notorious for catching opponents in possession and inflicting damage using lightning fast well-coordinated counter attacks.
