Arsenal take on Brighton & Hove Albion at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday evening, looking to keep pace with title rivals Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table.

Despite surrendering control in the title race, Mikel Arteta’s side have refused to give up hopes of landing an elusive Premier League trophy this season.

The Gunners registered a comfortable 2-0 win over top four hopefuls Newcastle United last time out, to keep themselves within touching distance of the top spot.

They will enter Sunday’s clash on the back of consecutive wins, looking to make it three in a row against a fragile Brighton side that were on the receiving end of a 5-1 trouncing last Monday.

Roberto De Zerbi’s side suffered the mother of all capitulations against relegation-battling Everton but remain in contention to secure a place in Europe next season.

Brighton have been the feel-good story of the Premier League this season, and the Seagulls will be keen to put Monday’s humbling in the rear-view mirror.

Arsenal are on a tightrope in the title race, and while they hope Man City falter at some point, there can be no margin for error in their remaining fixtures.

Having won the reverse fixture at the Amex Stadium, Arteta’s side will fancy their chances of doing the double over Brighton for only the second time.

The Seagulls have a knack for upsetting the ‘big boys,’ but Arsenal boast a strong home record, having won five of their last six league games at the Emirates (D1), scoring at least three goals in each game.

Gunners captain Martin Odegaard will be looking to continue his rampant form, having scored five goals in his last five games.

He has made four goal contributions against Brighton and will be itching to have another crack at the Seagulls.

Brighton need a quick response after the Everton defeat, and Arsenal could present an opportunity as they have won three of their last four away games against the Gunners in all competitions (L1).

However, they have lost nine of their ten league games on their travels against sides starting the day in the top two, conceding 23 goals while scoring just six.

They have also lost two of their last three league games away from home (W1) and could suffer consecutive defeats for only the second time this season.

Brighton have scored 63 goals this season. Besides the top two, only Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur have netted more times, so they will fancy their chances of giving the Gunners a run for their money.

We Say: Arsenal 2-2 Brighton & Hove Albion

Despite Arsenal’s impressive form at the Emirates, Brighton have managed to pick on the Gunners in their own backyard this season, so facing off in North London will not faze the Seagulls.

De Zerbi’s side have also proven they have what it takes to push the Premier League elites to their breaking point, and Arsenal should be no different, with both sides sharing the spoils of a thrilling encounter.
