Josh Bowler is reportedly closing in on a summer switch to Preston North End

Preston North End are poised to complete the signing of Josh Bowler from Nottingham Forest subject to a medical, having faced competition for his signature from Championship rivals Hull City.

The Lilywhites' interest in brokering a deal was first called by The Sun's Alan Nixon on Tuesday afternoon via his exclusive Patreon service, which also made note of competition from Hull. However, Nixon has now revealed that Bowler is set to undertake a medical ahead of a deadline day switch to Deepdale.

The ex-Blackpool winger is yet to make a competitive appearance for Forest following his arrival from the Tangerines two years ago and spent the previous campaign on loan at Cardiff City, scoring five goals.
