Chelsea face Aston Villa later in what promises to be potentially the game of the day – and the pundit predictions are in.

Harry Redknapp thinks it will be a fun game – but Blues fans won’t like how he predicts the game to go:

“This might just be the game that delivers the most drama and entertainment. Aston Villa create and score plenty, but they’ve been a little shaky at the back of late,” Redknapp said in quotes picked up by DAZN.

“Chelsea are a similar story – some of the defending against Brighton was shambolic at times. Another defeat here would really put some pressure on Enzo Maresca’s side and throw a spanner in their hopes of finishing in the top four.

“This honestly could be anything; I just think we’re going to see goals. I think Villa win it though, they could do with a big win in the league.”

His final predicted result is Aston Villa 3-2 Chelsea.

We don’t disagree with predicting an Aston Villa win – they’re a really good team with a really good manager and a great group of players. They’re confident and playing at home and they know a win over us would be massive.

Our defence was indeed shambolic last time out, and Villa could easily score 2 or 3 if their new attacking signings find their feet. Chelsea need more physicality in their defence.

We do question the idea that we might score 2 goals a little bit, given we only managed 1 shot on target in our last 2 games combined.

Still, Villa play a high line and can be open at the back, so maybe Redknapp will call it right and there will be goals. Let’s just hope the final result isn’t what the former Spurs coach says it might be.
