MASSIMILIANO ALLEGRI

"Even tonight the fans were close to the team. I have to thank the boys and all those who worked at Continassa. We have improved on what we did last year. We earned 72 points on the field, tonight we played a good game and ended with an away win, of which we hadn’t earned enough this season. There are three main stats this season: third place, semi-final of the Europa League and the Italian Cup, in a difficult situation. We started with one team and after a month we had another. These are not alibis, I don't want them. Playing every game with the obligation to win wasn't easy and, despite everything, we scored 72 points. We just have to thank the boys, who were good at fighting together, which made everyone grow. This year players were also missing due to injury and various things happened. I don't know the numbers, but right now there's a good base. There is a good group of young and experienced players and there are conditions for doing better next year. The years are not all the same: this one was very particular and we could have done better in the first part of the season."

FEDERICO CHIESA

“I'm happy with the goal, I hoped it’d at least help the team reach the Europa League. We would be in the Champions League if it were not for the points deduction. We had achieved our goal in the league in terms of points. It’s been a difficult season for me after the injury. It took me 10 months to get back, it wasn't easy. We’ll see how it goes now with the national team, and then my aim is to return here and do well."
