Coach Thiago Motta, Dusan Vlahovic, Nicolo Fagioli and Francisco Conceicao spoke to the press after Juventus’ 3-2 win away at RB Leipzig in the UEFA Champions League.
“We played well, even in the first half despite the fact that went into the break a goal down. We are very satisfied with the victory and the way it came about. We played well. In the second half we played with ten men for a long time, but we didn't lower our level and that made the difference. We tried to go forward, to be proactive, to play good football both in attack and defence, as well as trying to find our wide players in advanced positions. In the end we deserved the result, we had the courage to play our game even in a difficult situation after being reduced to 10 men. The key word was courage. Courage from the boys who were determined to get forward to cause problems for the opposition. Even with a man down, that was the feeling. We pushed forward and did it well all the way to the end.”
“I am very happy for the team, we showed that we are becoming a team, we fought together, as the coach asked us to, we won deservedly, despite suffering with a man down, it was a great performance; these victories, and these games, we need to get used to this level. We must continue with even more conviction, in the meantime, congratulations to everyone, to my teammates and to the coach for how he prepared us for the match.”
“In the second half the coach told us that we had to believe, after a good first half; we were good, we showed a lot of heart. Maybe it wasn’t a perfect match, but certainly a great one: for me maybe the best since I've been here, and it all starts now, I'm giving everything to get better and better.”
“We showed great team spirit in an eventful game and in which we did our best to bring home all three points. A victory that means a lot, in the Champions League, now we have to continue like this in the league. The coach told me to do what I know how to do, giving me freedom, and asking me to also help out defensively.”
