Coach Thiago Motta, Vasilije Adzic, Pierre Kalulu and Juan Cabal spoke to the press after Juventus’ 1-0 win against Lazio at the Allianz Stadium on Matchday eight of Serie A 2024/2025.

THIAGO MOTTA'S COMMENTS

“It was a complicated match, we faced a team in good form, that defends with great organisation, full of good players - they are capable of doing well not just against us, but against everyone. We tried until the end, with some mistakes and other things done well, to get a deserved and important result: three points are great, but now we focus on Stuttgart who had a bad day today, but will be very dangerous opponents. I'm always happy when we win, regardless: we try to make an impact with our style of play, but I've already explained what playing good football means to me.

Today we had balance in defence, with Lazio down to ten we raised pushed higher and created: we know we have to improve, but I think it's a deserved result. Having an extra man we wanted to try to make their defenders make decisions, especially out wide: on the left we could make a bigger impact, on the other side we had an extra player to exploit overlaps, while [Khephren] Thuram tried to break through centrally. Then Cabal arrived at the right time to put the ball into the net: we lost a bit of balance conceding a few too many free kicks, but as I said we have to improve. Cambiaso is in good form, performing at a high level in many different positions on the pitch: he is a guy who works hard, transmits the right things to the team and is a role model. He's playing a lot, but he knows he has to keep his balance. At the moment I'm not thinking about the match against Inter, but only about Stuttgart: we'll have to run a lot because they play good football, I'm focused on that.”

VASILIJE ADZIC'S THOUGHTS

“It is a dream come true for me to play in a Juventus shirt, I wouldn't have even imagined it as a child. My parents were at the stadium, and I saw them in tears: it was very emotional for me and for them. It was important as a team to get the three points and I am happy that [Juan] Cabal was able to score the goal.”

PIERRE KALULU'S REACTION

“I work a lot to be at the level of my teammates and the level required to play for this club: I do what I can and give my all in every match and I'm happy that now it also shows on the pitch. We are a team that keeps the ball well and the opposition struggled to press us, they preferred to defend deeper and in a more compact manner: so it became more complicated to find space in attacking areas, you always need to have patience on the pitch. In training the coach praises every time we try to push forward with the ball, that's also why I feel free to do it: I was happy to be able to put the opponent's defence in trouble and cause the incident that lead to the red card, had it also been a penalty it would have been even better [laughs].”

JUAN CABAL'S COMMENTS

“I am very happy, first of all with the work we are doing as a team and the trust that has been placed in us newcomers this season. My wife is pregnant and everything is great for me right now: on a personal level I'm doing well and I can't ask for more. We knew that Lazio are a great team, we had to put into practice on the pitch the work done during the week: I played the last game against Roma and I was ready, I'm happy with that too.”
