Having spent significantly in January and then again earlier this summer, Olympique Lyonnais need to balance the books between now and the end of the closure of the transfer window. There is an already-established long list of players that are available on the market, including Rayan Cherki, Maxence Caqueret, and Dejan Lovren.
Georges Mikautadze’s arrival from FC Metz also means that Gift Orban will be available, despite only arriving earlier this year. However, according to L’Équipe, there are two new, more surprising names on the list: Orel Mangala and Ernest Nuamah. The former arrived on loan at Lyon in January from Nottingham Forest and that deal was then made permanent earlier this summer.
Nuamah had an impressive campaign at OL, showing great promise. As a result, the Ghanaian winger is seen as a player that could garner a significant fee. L’Équipe understands that Nuamah has interest from Premier League clubs. Selling Mangala could prove more difficult, given that he has thus far failed to convince at Lyon. Both players may, however, need to be sold, should OL fail to shift the other, more expendable elements of their squad.
