According to a recent report from SPORT, Marcus Rashford continues to prioritise a move to Barcelona, even as the club edges closer to finalising a deal for Nico Williams.

The winger is of the idea that he could coexist at Barcelona even if Barcelona end up signing the Athletic Club forward.

Despite still having one year left on his contract with Manchester United, the England international has reportedly made it clear to his agent and inner circle that he is willing to significantly reduce his salary to play for the Catalan giants.

Rashford, who shares a strong bond with Barça youngster Lamine Yamal, is said to be excited by the idea of playing under Hansi Flick.

He believes his skill set would perfectly match Flick’s attacking system, which provides wide players with the freedom to exploit space and get into goal-scoring positions frequently.

According to sources close to the player, Rashford is prepared to make a major financial sacrifice just to wear the Barça shirt, a gesture that shows his commitment to this dream move.

More affordable than Nico or Luis Diaz

Even though Barcelona are heavily focused on securing Nico Williams from Athletic Club, Rashford remains a viable and potentially more affordable alternative.

While Athletic are demanding the full €62 million release clause for Nico, and Liverpool’s Luis Díaz would command a high fee as well, Rashford’s case appears different.

Manchester United are reportedly open to selling the forward and initially valued him at around €40 million.

However, those close to the English striker believe that negotiations could bring the price down to somewhere near €30 million, a much more manageable figure given Barça’s financial situation.

This could make Rashford a smart option for Barcelona, especially if they struggle to raise the necessary funds for Nico Williams or Luis Diaz.

With the player already showing a strong desire to join and ready to lower his wages, the club could find themselves with a motivated, Premier League-proven talent eager to contribute under Flick’s system.

Whether Barcelona choose to act on this opportunity remains to be seen, but the door is clearly open.
