The drama continues, the football warfare continues, or as it was so aptly named, the ‘football civil war’ flares up even more.

Chelsea are fully in the middle of the absolute circus that is the announcement of the new breakaway European Super League that could start as soon as August this year.

However, the move has been greeted by anger and shock from fans, pundits, and players alike, and it is only going to get more toxic and confusing.

Obviously football’s governing bodies UEFA and FIFA are fully against the plan, and they are expected to fight it in the courts, which is the only place I see this ending.

The Premier League are also obviously fully against the plan, and they are set to hold a crisis meeting tomorrow (Tuesday) morning that will involve 14 clubs.

The 6 clubs who are joining the new Super League have not been invited to join the meeting, which says it all really.
