The Toffees have stepped up their interest in Souttar and could look at him as a suitable replacement for Yerry Mina. The Evertonian defence was left in shambles after conceding 5 goals in their last Premier League fixture against a struggling Watford.

Tottenham themselves have been struggling to maintain their defensive solidity at the back with humiliating defeats to Arsenal and Chelsea in the London derbies this season. Nuno Espirito Santo has had a rocky start to the season and it feels as though he is still trying to figure out the system and squad that works best for him.

Eric Dier is one of the most senior defenders in a relatively young backline which most consists of Cristian Romero, Emerson Royal, and Sergio Reguilon. A young and exciting centre-back like Harry Souttar could definitely help the Lilywhites add more depth and reinforcements in a key area of the pitch.

If the latest reports are to be believed then Everton could be in a prime position to sign the young defender ahead of the Villains and Spurs. That being said any move for the youngster is only speculatory and it is to be seen if he leaves the bet365 Stadium in the January transfer window.

Spurs and Everton are both currently in a state of refit and are looking to rebuild their squads. Spurs for their part need to add the right pieces to ensure their cucle of constant rebuilding does not repeat.
