Aston Villa are considering a move for Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson before the transfer window shuts, reports claim.

The Telegraph say the Blues value the striker at around £60m, but that Villa would be unlikely to match that demand and that a loan move with an option to buy him would be the most likely option.

Jackson has been told he can leave Chelsea this summer should a suitable offer arrive, following the signings of striker Joao Pedro and Liam Delap this summer.

Another player who could be departing Chelsea is Christopher Nkunku, with his former club RB Leipzig keen on bringing the Frenchman back to the club, and have stepped up their efforts according to the Guardian.

That could potentially pave the way for Chelsea to sign Leipzig’s attacking midfielder Xavi Simons, with the Blues needing sales for bringing anyone else in, the report says.

The Evening Standard say Chelsea remain confident of signing Simons, as well as Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho.

Meanwhile, the biggest transfer saga of the summer rumbles on with Alexander Isak going public with his desire to leave Newcastle this summer.

And the Sun say claim Liverpool have sanctioned a record £130m proposed deal to sign the Sweden international, and are also hoping to bring in central defender Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace.

Isak claimed broken promises were behind his desire to leave Newcastle, but the club have since denied that any promises were broken by releasing a statement of their own.

Newcastle are hoping to sign Yoane Wissa from Brentford regardless of whether Isak leaves or not, but the Northern Echo say they are unwilling to pay more than £40m for the DR Congo international.

Wissa did not play for Brentford in their opening Premier League defeat to Nottingham Forest, having been left out after expressing his desire to leave the club.

The Athletic say Wolves striker Jorgen Strand Larsen remains another possible option.

Elsewhere, the Independent report that Tottenham are targeting Monaco’s Maghnes Akliouche if they cannot land Manchester City winger Savinho.

They continue to work on a deal for Ebere Eze too, with Crystal Palace reportedly keen on lining up a replacement before allowing him to leave. Talksport say Southampton attacker Tyler Dibling is a someone Palace are considering.

Sky Sports say Palace are close to agreeing a deal worth £32m with Leicester City for forward Bilal El Khannouss but have not yet fully committed to the deal while they weigh up their options.

And Aston Villa have confirmed that Leon Bailey has joined AS Roma on a season-long loan.
