The Premier League has revealed the eight nominations for September’s Goal of the Month award.
Ivan Toney’s sensational free-kick and his hat-trick clinching goal in Brentford’s 5-2 win over Leeds are both up for the award, as is Phillip Billing’s brilliant long-range strike in Bournemouth’s 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest.
Aleksandar Mitrović’s fine finish in Fulham’s defeat at Tottenham is also in with a shout, along with this stunner from Brighton’s Alexis Mac Allister in their 5-2 win over Leicester.
And from last weekend, Heung-min Son’s brilliant first two goals of the season have been nominated, along with a fine strike from Fulham’s João Palhinha
Earlier on Thursday, the Premier League also revealed the three names nominated for Manager of the Month.
After bouncing back from a tough start to the season, Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has received his first nomination.
Tottenham’s Antonio Conte has also been nominated after his side scored a league high eight goals in September.
And Bournemouth caretaker manager Gary O’Neil is the surprise name on the list after he nominated a 3-2 comeback victory at Nottingham Forest and a 0-0 draw with Newcastle.
There were also the nominations for Player of the Month.
Erling Haaland won the award in August and his Manchester City team-mate Kevin De Bruyne has been nominated this month, along with Bournemouth’s Phillip Billing, Tottenham’s Pierre-Emile Højbjerg, Everton’s Alex Iwobi, Aston Villa’s Jacob Ramsey and Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford.
The nominees forGoal of the Month will also be revealed later on Thursday.
