The Premier League roared back into life after the international break with a series of cracking games.
And our player of the week is…
In yet another early kick-off for Liverpool, they seriously struggled to break down a typically dogged Sean Dyche side in the Merseyside derby despite the first half sending off of Ashley Young.
Everton appeared to be on the verge of grinding out a precious point and leave the Reds a third Premier League game without a win after the late heartache against both Spurs and Brighton.
That was until Salah intervened, first from the penalty spot before icing the game late into injury time.
The spot kick came after Michael Keane was adjudged to have deliberately handled the ball fired in his direction by Luis Díaz, a debatable decision from the officials.
There was no debate or question from 12 yards though as Salah confidently slotted past Jordan Pickford in the Toffees’ net, to both the delight and relief of the Anfield faithful. It was his 200th league goal of an already-elite career.
With Everton throwing players forward in search of a late equaliser, it always felt likely the Reds might catch them on the break, which they duly did in the seventh minute of added time.
Darwin Núñez was set free and unselfishly teed up his Egyptian teammate for an easy close range finish that sealed all three points and local bragging rights for the red side of the city.
Salah’s double briefly put Jürgen Klopp’s side top of the table before Tottenham, Manchester City and Arsenal played, and kept up his incredible Premier League run at Anfield.
He has now scored or assisted in his last 13 home league games, a record only topped by two in the Premier League era by Alan Shearer (both 18 and 17) and Thierry Henry (17). Who would bet against him going past both of them in the coming months?
The 31-year-old is also set to soon go past Michael Owen in the Premier League goalscoring ranks, currently just sitting four goals behind his fellow Liverpool scoring sensation. Once he goes past Owen’s 150 mark, he will move into the top 10 in the post-1992 period.
