Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (36) is in talks with Saudi Pro League side Al-Qadsiah over a contract termination, according to a report on Monday from Foot Mercato. The Gabonese international striker joined Saudi Arabia on the back of a remarkable season with Olympique de Marseille. Aubameyang logged 30 goals in 51 games played with the Olympiens, before signing a two-year deal with Al-Qadsiah.
Aubameyang has not lost his touch in the SPL. He found the back of the net 17 times in the league. But Al-Qadsiah may not benefit from Aubameyang’s output for a second consecutive season. Foot Mercato understands that the former Gunner is in talks over a contract termination, and only details still need to be ironed out before Aubameyang becomes a free agent.
The outlet adds that a handful of Saudi clubs have taken notice of Aubameyang’s contractual situation. An MLS franchise, as well as clubs from Ligue 1, the Premier League, Turkey’s Süper Lig, Serie A and Spain are considering a move for the soon-to-be free agent, who was in Saint-Etienne this Monday.
