Burnley are running away with the Championship title as things stand, and the Clarets extended their cushion at the summit to seven points at Norwich City last time out.

Vincent Kompany will be aiming to progress in the FA Cup against Ipswich Town this evening, having built such a gap inside the automatic promotion places that they can probably afford to focus on the competition a little more than the league.

The Belgian has manipulated his squad to keep everyone happy across the course of the season and seems destined for a big future in the dugout.

Footballer turned journalist and broadcaster Adrian Clarke singled out one player for looking ready for promotion with Burnley, speaking on the What The EFL?! podcast.

He said: “(Anass) Zaroury is one of the most in-form players in the division.

“I don’t think too many of us had heard of Zaroury a year ago, maybe not even six months ago, but he looks Premier League level doesn’t he, I have to say.”

The Moroccan has been one of the most dangerous wingers in the second tier this season, and is a wonderful player to watch in picking up possession in tight areas and looking to cut in onto his stronger right foot.

How many points did Burnley amass during their title-winning 2015/16 Championship campaign?

86 88 89 93

Zaroury looks like an incredible find and a player destined for a career in a top-flight and as a valued asset to the Morocco national team.

The 22-year-old has already doubled his goal tally, of five, at Charleroi in the Jupiler League last season, and the Clarets will be very pleased that they tied him down to a four-year deal in the summer.

Surrounded by players like Josh Brownhill, Johann Gudmundsson and Nathan Tella it is no surprise to see Zaroury come on in his development this season, but to this extent? Possibly even Kompany did not see these numbers and this performance level being produced.
