There has been a lot of chatter around Dean Huijsen recently following his debut in the Spanish national team this week.
Huijsen’s debut was a hard-earned reward for an excellent season he is having at Bournemouth, with the teenage prospect emerging as one of the rising stars in the Premier League.
Needless to say, Huijsen’s rapid rise to prominence has put a number of clubs, including Real Madrid on red alert, with the Spanish giants ready to sign him in the coming summer.
However, the race for Huijsen is hotting up with other clubs also keeping a close eye on the Bournemouth star. One of them are Chelsea.
According to MARCA, the Blues have emerged as the main competitor for Real Madrd in the race to sign Huijsen next summer.

In recent years, Chelsea have put great emphasis on signing young talents before they make a big breakthrough. While Huijsen has already gotten his breakthrough at Bournemouth, Chelsea would want to nab before he becomes a bigger face in Spanish defence.
Real Madrid, though, won’t be willing to back down. The club have a huge advantage in the race as the player himself is reportedly a fan of Real Madrid.
If Huijsen wants to leave Bournemouth, he will only consider a move to Santiago Bernabeu. That is what he has reportedly told his inner circle.
That said, Real Madrid now must make a decision soon. Chelsea, after all, are a formidable rival to have in the transfer market, especially given their economic firepower.
Hence, the onus will be on Real Madrid to quickly make all the arrangements and secure the deal to sign Dean Huijsen for the season ahead.
