A weekend off for ourselves due to Man U playing (and hopefully losing…) in the FA Cup this afternoon, with United back in action on Wednesday night when we travel to Crystal Palace.

So here is the newly updated Premier League form table, which covers the past six matches for all teams, after Saturday’s matches:

An absolutely massive achievement by Eddie Howe and his (small) merry band of available players.

The last six results for Newcastle United with very latest one listed first:

Newcastle 4 Tottenham 0

Fulham 0 Newcastle 1

Newcastle 1 Everton 1

Newcastle 4 West Ham 3

Chelsea 3 Newcastle 2

Newcastle 3 Wolves 0

As you can see, Newcastle United now in second place in this newly updated Premier League form table.

NUFC with thirteen points from four wins, one draw and one defeat, with fifteen goals scored and seven conceded.

Man City are top of the Premier League form table with one more point than Newcastle, whilst Arsenal are below NUFC on goal difference in the form table, having also picked up 13 points.

Chelsea in fourth having picked up 12 points from a possible 18.

Newcastle United would actually have been very top of this Premier League form table now, if Man City had played and lost this weekend in the league, instead of playing in the FA Cup.

This is how the full Premier League table currently now looks on Sunday 21 April 2024:

Eddie Howe and his players giving Newcastle United a seriously good platform to now attack these remaining six matches.

Also, it is worth looking at the Premier League form table and the six clubs Newcastle United still have left to play.

In their combined last six matches each, they have won only seven of a possible thirty six most recent matches.

Burnley and Brentford picking up wins yesterday against other relegation threatened teams (Sheff Utd and Luton respectively) to make it two wins each in their last six, whilst Brighton, Man U and Palace have each only won one of their last six PL matches, whilst Sheff Utd haven’t won any of their last half dozen. Four of these six clubs are also in the bottom seven of the full Premier League table.

Also worth looking at a more extended run of recent Premier League form for Newcastle United

Newcastle: Played 11 Won 6 Drawn 3 Lost 2 Goals Scored 28 Goals Against 20
