Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United side playing at home to Fulham.

United hoping to go on another winning run, adding to last weekend’s victory over Southampton.

Can Eddie Howe’s side make it eleven wins from their last twelve games (all competitions)?

Here is the updated Premier League form table on the morning of Thursday 30 January, which covers the past six matches for all teams:

The last six PL results for Newcastle United with very latest one listed first:

Southampton 1 Newcastle 3

Newcastle 1 Bournemouth 4

Spurs 1 Newcastle 2

Newcastle 3 Aston Villa 0

As you can see, Newcastle United now at the very top in this newly updated Premier League form table.

NUFC with fifteen points from five wins, no draws and one defeat, with fourteen goals scored and six conceded.

As for Newcastle’s opponents on Saturday, these are the last six PL matches that Fulham have played, the very most recent listed first:

Fulham 0 Man U 1

Leicester 0 Fulham 2

West Ham 3 Fulham 2

Fulham 2 Ipswich 2

Fulham 2 Bournemouth 2

Chelsea 1 Fulham 2

So Fulham eleventh in the Premier League form table with eight points from two wins, two draws and two defeats, scoring ten and conceding nine.

This is how the full Premier League table currently now looks on Thursday 30 January 2025:

As you can see, Fulham tenth in the full Premier League table, one place higher than in the form table.

I think both tables tell us plenty, Fulham are dangerous opponents on their day, as shown by their win at Chelsea. However, they could only draw at home to Ipswich and I watched both of their recent defeats to West Ham and Man U, when Fulham didn’t play very well against two struggling sides.

If we extend the Premier League form table by two matches, it becomes:

Newcastle United: Played 8 Won 7 Drawn 0 Lost 1 Goals Scored Goals 22 Conceded 6

Fulham: Played 8 Won 2 Drawn 4 Lost 2 Goals Scored Goals 12 Conceded 11

The extra two recent form matches also summing up the Fulham inconsistency.

They went to Anfield and led 1-0 and 2-1, Liverpool only avoiding defeat with a goal on 86 minutes. Yet in the PL match that followed, Fulham couldn’t beat or even score against Southampton at home, that match ending 0-0 at Craven Cottage.

If United can keep it tight at the back on Saturday, I think Eddie Howe’s team can get at least a couple of goals of their own and win this.
