Game Week 9 is finally here! Here we’ll be showcasing our usual predictions for the next round of fixtures in the Premier League 22/23 season.
Fans of some sides have been starved of Premier League football for some time now, so we’re massively excited about the upcoming game week, where we’ll (hopefully) see every game go ahead as scheduled for the first time in three weeks.
We have some absolutely cracking fixtures lined up, with derbies galore. Will it be Erik ten Hag or Pep Guardiola? Will Antonio Conte outwit Mikel Arteta? Only time will tell.
Let’s dive into our predictions for Game Week 9 in the Premier League 22/23 season.
A huge fixture to dive right into as the high-flying rivals face off in the first North London derby of the campaign. This is probably the most evenly matched we’ve depicted the sides in years, so we’ll back a draw in this one.
Battle of the B’s, but we think one side is far superior.
Prediction: Bournemouth 0 – 2 Brentford
Patrick Vieira‘s Palace side are surprising many this year with their tenacious style of play. They’re a very hard team to go away to and with Chelsea in a transitional period, we think they could nick a result here.
Prediction: Crystal Palace 1 – 0 Chelsea
Both teams are performing strongly this campaign, but Newcastle United look dangerous under Eddie Howe. This one will be tight, but they should take it.
A team that may have benefitted from the break may be Liverpool after the chaotic start to the season. They face Brighton who were left in a sticky situation after Graham Potter‘s departure. We can only see one winner.
Two early strugglers face off at St Mary’s – but we think the home side will prevail.
The Hammers haven’t started off as they would have liked to, but against what looks like a rather lacklustre side, we think David Moyes will come out on top.
The second huge fixture of the weekend, the Manchester derby is upon us! Can Erling Haaland continue his fine goal-scoring form? We think so. It’ll be a well-contested affair, but the Cityzens possess far too much firepower.
This one has a draw written all over it!
Finally, MNF brings us bottom of the league Leicester versus a shakey Forest side. Another draw on the cards, we reckon.
