The Premier League is now in its fifth week for the 22-23 season, so here we have our predictions for how we think the fixtures will play out.
Game week 4 produced some absolute corkers in regard to fixtures. We had goals galore at Anfield where Liverpool tore apart a helpless Bournemouth side 9-0, which has now resulted in the first managerial departure of Scott Parker with news breaking very recently.
We also saw a champion-Esque comeback from Manchester City at the Etihad from Pep Guardiola‘s side, they came back from two goals down to win 4-2 – with marquee signing Erling Haaland bagging the first, but certainly not the last hat-trick of his City career.
We’re hoping for some similar fixtures this week, with these games occurring for the first time this season during midweek.
So, with this – here are our predictions for game week 5 in the Premier League 22/23 season.
A valiant effort from Palace looked like they deserved more against Man City, we think they’ll scoop all three points against Brentford.
Prediction: Crystal Palace 3 – 1 Brentford
Two teams have both impressed thus far, but Graham Potters‘ side looks the stronger of the two.
Prediction: Fulham 1 – 2 Brighton
Southampton looked bright against Manchester United, however, another tough affair awaits them at St Mary’s in game week 5. We predict another loss for the Saints.
Prediction: Southampton 1 – 2 Chelsea
Yet to register a win, the Toffees are feeling the heat, and we predict things will go from bad to worse against Leeds.
Prediction:
An early relegation scrap? Far too early to tell, but both sides could certainly do with a win. A now manager-less Bournemouth side will most likely come out as the losers in this game.
Prediction: Bournemouth 0 – 2 Wolves
Arsenal have been top class so far, and they’ll most likely continue their scintillating form against Aston Villa.
New year, same old City. This should be a high-scoring affair, with the Cityzens coming out on top.
A tasty London derby, which should be one of the games of the week. We think Antonio Conte‘s side will edge this.
Liverpool will be in high spirits after their huge victory, they should carry on their fine form in this fixture against Newcastle.
Manchester United’s season has finally begun. They’ll be looking to make it three wins in a row against a struggling Leicester side. We think they’ll do just that.
