Real Madrid will take to the Allianz Arenas as favourites in their Champions League semi-final against Bayern Munich on Tuesday night at 21:00 CEST. While injuries have been a major issue for Los Blancos this season,  Carlo Ancelotti’s line-up appears to largely pick itself.

The Italian has confirmed that Aurelien Tchouameni will start the match, although it is not clear whether at the back or in midfield. Until their second leg against Manchester City in the quarter-finals, Tchouameni had been used for the big games at the back, but his suspension gave way to Nacho Fernandez, who Marca believe will start. The Frenchman returned to the backline against Barcelona too.

Eder Militao continues his recovery from an anterior cruciate ligament injury, while Thibaut Courtois could be back on the bench after his meniscus issue. Lucas Vazquez will start in place of the suspended Dani Carvajal, but Diario AS are less certain of Tchouameni’s presence in midfield. If he is at the back, they feel Eduardo Camavinga will start in midfield. Ferland Mendy is set to return to the starting XI after two games out with muscle fatigue.

Tuchel must deal with many more doubts. Bouna Sarr, Matthijs de Ligt, Sascha Boey, Dayot Upamecano and Kingsley Coman are all out or doubts, but it appears Konrad Laimer will be back in time to start.

The Bayern coach was adamant that Serge Gnabry would return from injury with a goal, but he is backed to start from the bench. Alphonso Davies, a rumoured Real Madrid target, is due to miss out in favour of a left side consisting of Noussair Mazraoui and Raphael Guerreiro, with Leroy Sane on the other side.
