Manchester United entertain Arsenal in today’s much-awaited Premier League clash at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils played out a 1-1 draw against Real Sociedad in the first leg of the Europa League last 16.
They have everything to play for in the return leg, but manager Ruben Amorim is still expected to pick a strong starting line-up to face the Gunners.
United beat Arsenal in the FA Cup third round in January but are winless in the last four league meetings. Amorim will be aiming to end the streak.
Formation: 3-4-2-1
Predicted Line-up:
Andre Onana has been ever-present in the league for the Red Devils since he arrived from Inter Milan. He is guaranteed to start in goal. Altay Bayindir remains injured.
There will be an enforced change at the back. Victor Lindelof could partner Matthijs de Ligt and Leny Yoro in central defence, with Harry Maguire doubtful with an injury.
Lindelof has become a forgotten star for the Red Devils due to injuries and competition for places. He looks set to make his first league start of the season.
Patrick Dorgu is suspended for another two league games after his red card for violent conduct against Ipswich Town. Diogo Dalot should start at left wing-back, with Noussair Mazraoui on the right.
Casemiro is likely to drop to the bench. Toby Collyer could replace him in defensive midfield. If Manuel Ugarte won’t be fit for Thursday, it makes sense to rest Casemiro ahead of the Sociedad game.
Collyer’s mobility and better work rate should be useful against Arsenal’s high press.
Bruno Fernandes is poised to continue in the number eight position. The rest of the attack could stay the same. Alejandro Garnacho provided the assist for Joshua Zirkzee’s goal in midweek.
The duo are expected to keep their places in attacking midfield. Amorim has dropped a big hint that he will continue with Rasmus Hojlund despite Chido Obi’s promising cameo against Fulham.
