Borussia Dortmund face Newcastle United in the Champions League at St. James Park on Wednesday night in what will be a boisterous atmosphere in the North East of England.
Dortmund are still without a win in this year’s competition with a defeat against PSG on matchday one before a draw against Italian side Milan, meaning the Bundesliga club sit bottom of Group F.
Die Schwarzgelben do though remain unbeaten in this season’s Bundesliga with six wins and two draws. Only Eintracht Frankfurt (6), Bayer Leverkusen and Bayern Munich (7) have conceded fewer goals than Dortmund in the Bundesliga season but they’re coming up against a Newcastle side that has scored 24 goals in nine Premier League games- they’ve also beat PSG this season.
Coming into this game, Edin Terzić isn’t expected to make many changes from their 1-0 win against Werder Bremen on Friday night. Ramy Bensebaini, who came on as a substitute at the weekend, could return to the lineup in place of Julian Ryerson, or potentially Marius Wolf.
Gio Reyna, who was excellent when he was brought on at the weekend, remains an option from the bench alongside Marcel Sabitzer, Karim Adeyemi, Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, Youssoufa Moukoko and Sebastién Haller.
Gregor Kobel – Marius Wolf, Mats Hummels, Nico Schlotterbeck, Ramy Bensebaini – Emre Can – Donyell Malen, Felix Nmecha, Marco Reus, Julian Brandt – Niclas Füllkrug.
