Predicted Atlético Madrid XI vs Valencia

Atlético Madrid take on Valencia in La Liga on Saturday night with the intention of keeping a firm grip on third spot in the table.

At the Estadio Metropolitano, they have been on top form of late after a poor start to the season and Valencia have not won away in La Liga since October. They have never beaten Atlético at their new ground and last won at the Vicente Calderón in 2011. A lot has happened since then and a lot has changed at both clubs.

The narrow win over Girona on Monday means that Diego Simeone is not expected to mix things up too much against Los Che and only one change could happen, with Rodrigo De Paul coming in for Thomas Lemar.

The Argentine has overcome his muscle injury, had half an hour on Monday and could feature from the start. Simeone is confident in him, although he has many options in midfield. Marcos Llorente and Koke, who were both left out of Luis de la Fuente’s Spain squad, will partner the World Cup winner in midfield.

AS predict the following Atlético XI:

Oblak – Molina, Savic, Giménez, Hermoso, Carrasco – Koke, Llorente, De Paul – Griezmann, Depay.
