Bukayo Saka faces a race to bit fit ahead of Arsenal’s trip to Brighton on Saturday evening. The 22-year-old, who has 13 goals and eight assists in 28 Premier League games this season, was absent from training on Friday which has casted doubt over the Englishman’s involvement.
With a Champions League game against Bayern Munich on Tuesday night, it’s unlikely that Mikel Arteta will take unnecessary risk with Saka, which could see Gabriel Jesus start. Reiss Nelson started against Luton Town in midweek as Arteta made wholesale changes, but the Spaniard will be way of the threat that Brighton pose to their title aspirations.
Jakub Kiwior was rested in midweek but the Poland international is expected to return to the starting lineup alongside Ben White, William Saliba and Gabriel, while Declan Rice, Jorginho and Martin Odegaard should make up the central positions. With their upcoming game against Bayern, it’s possible that Odegaard may not play the full 90 minutes.
David Raya – Ben White, William Saliba, Gabriel, Jakub Kiwior – Declan Rice, Jorginho – Gabriel Jesus, Martin Odegaard, Leandro Trossard – Kai Havertz.
