Another week, another Power Rankings update for the 10 most in-form sides in Europe.
The city of Naples was ready to burst on Sunday but a late Salernitana equaliser left the champagne on ice and Napoli have had to wait a few days to be crowned champions of Italy.
They can now seal the title with a win on Thursday. Either way, they’re on their way there.
There’s little to report with Feyenoord not playing since our last update. They remain on 10 consecutive Eredivisie wins (and 23 unbeaten) as they close in on the title.
Real Madrid’s inconsistent side has reared its head again, with Los Blancos beating Almería before losing to Real Sociedad.
With the Copa del Rey final coming up this weekend and Manchester City next, they’re going to need to find a more settled string of result to end the season on a high.
It’s now five wins from six for Leipzig, who continue to wrestle for a top four spot in the Bundesliga and have sealed their place in the DFB-Pokal final.
Christopher Nkunku is finally fully fit again and scored in each of his starts this week, netting the only goal in the 1-0 win over Hoffenheim before converting the fourth as Freiburg were beaten 5-1 in midweek. Things are starting to come together again.
With five wins in a row, talk of a crisis at Anfield is now already a distant memory.
Jürgen Klopp’s side may have turned the corner too late but they have turned it all the same, with Mohamed Salah and Diogo Jota in particular looking as sharp as they have for a long time and that new tucked-in role allowing Trent Alexander-Arnold to flourish.
The blueprint for 2023/24 is in place.
Villa’s impressive 10-game unbeaten run in the league had to end at some point and there’s no shame in it ending at Old Trafford.
The question now will be how quickly they can get back on track to seal a European place.
A 0-0 draw at Union Berlin last time out was far from a poor result but did mean Leverkusen failed to take a huge leap in the race for top four.
The Europa League semi-finalists are now nine unbeaten in the Bundesliga, conceding just six times in that spell as they’ve picked up more points than anyone else in Germany.
Back-to-back wins saw Atleti get right back on the horse after defeat to Barcelona and they are now up to second in LaLiga as their sensational 2023 form rolls on.
With eight wins from their last nine Premier League games, Newcastle are now, incredibly, on the verge of sealing a place in next season’s Champions League.
After their defence picked up so much praise earlier on in the campaign, April saw them score an incredible 20 times in six Premier League games. Alexander Isak and Callum Wilson are both firing, with Joelinton and Joe Willock providing some sensational support behind them.
Who else? They’re 19 unbeaten in all competitions, they’ve won 14 of their last 15. They’re on course for the treble.
