Champions League draw? Well we’ve got to get through our Power Rankings first!

10. Villarreal (🆕)

The season is still young but Villarreal are looking very, very strong in LaLiga. Unai Emery’s side have yet to concede as they’ve won their two games and sit top of the table, with last weekend’s 2-0 win at AtlĂ©tico Madrid a real statement.

Four of their five goals so far have come from players 21 or younger as well. Keep an eye on last season’s Champions League semi-finalists.

9. Tottenham Hotspur (No change)

A narrow 1-0 win over Wolves keeps the good mood going at Spurs as they continued their unbeaten start to the season.

It wasn’t the prettiest but it was less dramatic than the previous week’s draw at Chelsea and that’s just what the doctor ordered.

8. Leeds United (🆕)

What a win! The US revolution has taken off at Leeds in these opening weeks of the season, with Jesse March’s side tearing Chelsea apart last week.

The all-out press, led by Brenden Aaronson, looks a recipe for success and the Yorkshire outfit sit joint third in the Premier League, unbeaten, with three games played.

7. FC Porto (No change)

A first statement win of the season came at the weekend as Porto beat Sporting CP and reasserted themselves as favourites to defend their title in Portugal.

Evanilson continues to impress and will be someone to watch out for in Europe this season.

6. Napoli (🆕)

This new-look Napoli is to be taken seriously.

Mainstays Kalidou Koulibaly, Lorenzo Inisigne, Dries Mertens have all departed but there’s been no looking back as Luciano Spalletti’s men have hit the ground running.

Top of Serie A with nine goals scored in two matches — three from new boy Khvicha Kvaratskhelia — they have started the season with a statement.

5. Manchester City (👎 Last week: 4)

Well, Manchester City are human after all. An early goal at Newcastle last weekend made it look like another afternoon of light work was ahead for the champions but it was anything but.

Character and quality were shown to win a point from 3-1 down but, for the first time in the league this season, it was a case of dropped points.

4. Arsenal (👍 Last week: 5)

And that meant Arsenal ended matchday three top of the Premier League table, with their defeat of Bournemouth their most comfortable win of the season so far after defeats of Crystal Palace and Leicester.

New signings are shining and everything seems to have clicked, Mikel Arteta clearly has a good thing going in north London.

3. Real Madrid (No change)

Another weekend, another Real Madrid win. That’s two from two in the league as well as the European Super Cup triumph, but it’s not enough to leapfrog our next side

2. Bayern Munich (No change)

Dortmund drop points and Bayern win 7-0. Is that another Bundesliga title in the books already?

There was no Jamal Musiala and no Serge Gnabry for the demolition of VfL Bochum, just underlining how incredible this Bayern side is. But still not impressive enough for top spot?

1. Paris Saint-Germain (No change)

It’s really a flip of a coin between our top three.

Ultimately, Real Madrid aren’t handing out spankings and PSG are battering teams with even more conviction than Bayern!

A seven goal haul of their own, against 2020/21 Ligue 1 champions Lille, was absolutely ruthless on Sunday, with Kylian Mbappé (three), Neymar (two) and Lionel Messi (one) all on the scoresheet. Terrifying.
