It may be another international break but we have a week of club football to look back on to update the Power Rankings.

Here are our top 10 in-form sides across Europe right now.

10. Milan (🆕)

Olivier Giroud’s cameo in goal isn’t the only exciting thing happening at San Siro right now, Milan are enjoying themselves with the Frenchman up front too. A 5-1 defeat to Inter around a month ago could’ve derailed them but they’ve conceded just once in six games since.

Alongside two Champions League draws there have been four Serie A wins in those games, building on three before that Milan derby defeat, to send the Rossoneri to the top of the table.

9. VfB Stuttgart (🆕)

You may not have heard of Serhou Guirassy before the season started but you must have heard of him by now? The goalscoring sensation scored a second hat-trick of the season at the weekend to make it 13 goals in just seven Bundesliga matches.

And those goals have catapulted Stuttgart to second in the table, above Bayern and Dortmund, with six wins in seven games. Sebastian Hoeneß is cooking up something special.

8. Arsenal (🆕)

Just days after a first defeat of the season at Lens, Arsenal welcomed Manchester City to north London looking to avoid a 13th consecutive Premier League defeat against the Citizens. They did a bit more than that, beating the Premier League champions with a late goal and restricting the visitors to just four shots, the fewest they’ve taken in any league game under Pep Guardiola.

With four wins from their last five in the Premier League and six in eight so far this season, Arsenal still don’t seem to have hit top form but are still unbeaten and goals scored is the only thing keeping them second in the table at this early stage.

7. AtlĂ©tico de Madrid (🆕)

The disappointment of early dropped points has quickly faded in Madrid, with Diego Simeone’s side beginning to click. A 3-1 win over Real Madrid kicked off a five-game winning run across all competitions, with the team coming from behind twice in 3-2 wins against Cádiz and Feyenoord before the weekend’s impressive defeat of Real Sociedad.

It’s not often Atleti would have as many as 24 goals in 10 matches but that’s where they are so far this season and they’re looking very good indeed.

6. Inter (👎 Last week: 3)

While things have gone well for Inter’s city rivals since the derby, they’ve been a little rockier for the Nerazzurri. They haven’t gone terribly — not at all — and Inter reacted well to their first defeat of the season against Sassuolo, beating Salernitana (4-0) and Benfica (1-0) in response.

However, some cracks may be appearing and last week’s 2-2 draw with Bologna was a huge shock (and a huge disappointment) as an early two-goal lead slipped away. Another response will be needed when the international break ends.

5. Bayern Munich (👍 Last week: 7)

With eight wins and two draws in their last 10 games — the draws coming against potential title challengers Bayer Leverkusen and RB Leipzig — Bayern Munich appear to be quietly sliding into gear.

Between Leroy SanĂ© (in the form of his Bayern career), Harry Kane, supersub Mathys Tel and Kingsley Coman, there are no concerns about the attack. A few more clean sheets and Thomas Tuchel’s side will look as dominant as ever.

4. Barcelona (No change)

Barcelona remain unbeaten in LaLiga this season but have drawn two of their last three in disappointing fashion at Mallorca and Granada.

Results like that could be very costly come the end of the season and injuries aren’t helping. While Xavi’s team look a little more threatening this season, they’ve already conceded 10 league goals
that didn’t happen until the last weekend in April in 2022/23.

3. Tottenham (👍 Last week: 6)

Another week, another impressive win and Tottenham are top of the Premier League. Three points from a trip to Luton may not look like the most impressive result but Tottenham played over a half with 10 men on Saturday and the game was still 0-0 when Yves Bissouma received his marching orders.

Yes, four of their six wins have come against the bottom four teams in the Premier League but you can only beat the teams you’re up against and Ange Postecoglou’s team are playing entertaining football as well as getting plenty of points on the board.

2. Real Madrid (No change)

Sorry, but we again have no choice but to point out how special Jude Bellingham is. The Englishman netted a brace at the weekend win over Osasuna to make it 10 goals in his first 10 games for Real Madrid.

It’s not all Bellingham, though. Carlo Ancelotti has had injury issues in defence but AurĂ©lien TchouamĂ©ni did a fine job filling in at the weekend, while Fede Valverde shone in midfield and Joselu continued his impressive start. With 10 wins across 11 league and Champions League matches so far, Real look like the full package.

1. Bayer Leverkusen (No change)

Another team that looks like the full package, Leverkusen won with ease (and entertainment) yet again at the weekend, overcoming local rivals Köln.

It’s now 19 points from a possible 21 so far this season and with 23 goals already they’re averaging more than three per Bundesliga match. Xabi Alonso knows what he is doing.
