Liverpool will receive a percentage of any future sale of Harry Wilson by Fulham, a report from The Liverpool Echo has revealed.

After spending the vast majority of his career to date out on loan from Liverpool with other clubs, Wilson finally secured a permanent departure from Anfield on Saturday, making the move to Fulham.

The 24-year-old has signed a five-year contract with the London club, securing his future at Craven Cottage until the end of the 2025/26 season.

It has been reported that Fulham have paid Liverpool £12million for the services of the attacking midfielder, and it now seems the Merseyside club could benefit from this financially again in the future.

According to this latest update, Liverpool have negotiated a sell on clause in Wilson’s Fulham contract, that means the Reds will receive 15% of any fee that the Cottagers are paid for the signing of Wilson at some point in the future.

In total, Wilson made just two senior appearances for Liverpool, both of which came in the domestic cup competitions.

The Verdict

This does look to be a really good deal that Liverpool have got for Wilson here.

To get £12million for a player who made just two cup appearances for the first-team in six years with the first-team, is already a very useful piece of business for Liverpool.

But to then set themselves up to earn themselves another chunk of funds from any potential future sale of Wilson by Fulham, means this could yet become an even more profitable deal for the Merseyside club.

Indeed, if Wilson is able to fully demonstrate the potential he clearly has during his time at Fulham, it would be no surprise if a club was to be tempted to pay a fee for him in the future, setting Liverpool up for that extra windfall in the not too distant future.
