Championship outfit Cardiff City are still hopeful of luring current loanee Tommy Doyle back to the Welsh capital on another loan deal next season despite interest from AFC Bournemouth, as per a report from Wales Online.
The 20-year-old has been a key player in dragging the Bluebirds away from the relegation zone in recent months, first arriving from Manchester City during the winter window and instantly became one of the first names on the teamsheet under Steve Morison.
Already having 17 second-tier appearances under his belt, he has recorded two goals and three assists during that period, contributing both going forward and defensively as a key player in the middle of the park.

It’s no real surprise then that other sides may be monitoring his progress ahead of a potential summer move – and one club already said to have made an enquiry regarding his availability are AFC Bournemouth – who are currently firm favourites to secure their return to the Premier League at the second time of asking.
The potential opportunity to play top-tier football may be too much of a temptation for Pep Guardiola’s side and the midfielder to resist, potentially putting the Bluebirds at a disadvantage in this transfer race.
Wales Online sources have suggested not all hope has been lost just yet in their bid to recruit him on another temporary deal, possibly providing Morison with a big transfer boost with a big summer coming up for the second-tier side.
The Verdict:
Morison has already shown he can develop young players well and with that, other sides may be more willing to send their young players to the second-tier outfit knowing that they have a real chance of progressing in Wales.
Although Bournemouth haven’t exactly treated their loan players horrendously, Morgan Rogers isn’t enduring the best spell at the Vitality Stadium at this stage and he’s owned by City, so they may think twice about sending another talented player to the south coast.
For Doyle himself, he needs to guarantee himself game time above anything else and this is why the Cherries may need to guarantee the midfielder a certain number of minutes on the pitch.
With the likes of Lewis Cook, Jefferson Lerma, Ben Pearson and Philip Billing at their disposal, they may not be able to provide those minutes unless they offload one or two midfield players so a move back to Cardiff wouldn’t be a shock at this point.
it doesn’t look as though they will have a great deal of money to spend during the upcoming transfer window.
