Rangers potentially losing Alfredo Morelos this summer could pave the way for them to try and sign Liverpool winger Harry Wilson this coming transfer window, according to Michael Ball.

The Reds obviously have a connection with the Gers these days with Steven Gerrard in charge at Ibrox and helping them win the Scottish Premiership title this season after several years of not doing so.

Naturally, he’ll be looking to add to his squad in the summer and strengthen it further but it also remains to be seen if top players like Alfredo Morelos remain at the club.

Speaking to This Is Futbol, Ball explained:

“Steven’s got that connection with him. He knows of him, so that personal relationship could be a bonus. The money, we’re not too sure what they have to spend, so it all depends if any players move out as well at Rangers.

“If [Alfredo] Morelos moves on, the big money that they’ll get would give Rangers the opportunity to bring Harry and maybe a few others in.”

Rangers may even be able to get a deal sorted for Wilson without Morelos leaving, of course, which is perhaps what they would like to do most of all.

Steven Gerrard has done a great job at Ibrox and he may fancy bringing Wilson north of the border to give him more first-team football than he will likely get if he remains at Liverpool.

Wilson’s been impressive for Cardiff City this season in the Championship but whether that’s enough to feature for the Reds is up for debate.
