Ahead of his side’s FA Cup third round clash with Burnley on Friday night, Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has revealed defender Micky van de Ven could make his injury return in the game.

In what is a major boost for the side, Postecoglou stated the Dutchman has been training all week but that caution will be taken given the severity of the hamstring injury he suffered against Chelsea in early November.

Speaking to the press, he said: “Micky has trained this week,” Ange said. “Not sure about tomorrow’s game but he might be involved in the squad, it’s good to get him back.

“Obviously, he’s missed a fair bit so we’ll have to be careful with him.”

The good news on van de Ven comes alongside more injury woe, this time for Alejo Veliz, who suffered a knee injury in the 2-0 win against Bournemouth.

After the young forward underwent a scan, his manager said: “It doesn’t look like he’ll need surgery but it’ll be a couple of months which is disappointing because he worked really hard for his opportunity and you could be he was developing the last couple of weeks, so unfortunate for him.”

One forward who will be in the squad is Dejan Kulusevski, having sat out against Bournemouth through suspension.
