Possible Real Madrid trio set to lead Brazil to international glory

Real Madrid has had some iconic attacking partnerships in its history. The trio of Alfredo di Stefano, Francisco Gento, and Ferenc Puskas won Real Madrid five European titles and oversaw one of the most successful periods in the club’s history.

Few contemporary fans will remember this trio, but another more recent attacking trident made up of Karim Benzema, Gareth Bale, and Cristiano Ronaldo, will come readily to most fans’ minds as the BBC won 4 UEFA Champions League titles in 5 years, which included an unprecedented three-peat.

The club’s attacking line is far from certain for the next season, but as Diario AS has noted, the recent match between Spain and Brazil might have given the Santiago Bernabeu visitors a hint of how the club’s future attacking partnership might look like.

Vinicius Junior was the clear leader of the Brazil attack, as he took the armband for this match. He was unable to start a single match in the Copa America 2021, which Brazil lost on the ultimate stage, but was an undisputed starter for his country in the Qatar World Cup. He is yet to win any title with Brazil and thus will be gunning for a victory in the upcoming Copa America.

Rodrygo Goes was also able to break up his run of poor form in this match, as he pounced on a mistake from Unai Simon to score the first goal for Brazil.

The Real Madrid forward then played without any brakes in that game, and was one of the best players for his side, as he took the most shots on goal (2), completed the second most passes in the final third (5), completed the most dribbles (3), and got on the ball most times (30).

But it was Endrick, who is set to join Real Madrid in the coming summer, who announced himself to the world in this match. He scored another goal in this match after having scored against England in Wembley, but the goal in Bernabeu was particularly spectacular as Endrick took it on the volley and put the ball past several players to end it in the net.

It remains to be seen how Endrick will adapt to Real Madrid and Europe after making the jump from Brazil. But Merengue fans will be particularly hopeful after this last match as the youngster was able to perform with one of the biggest teams in the world, and formed a good partnership with two other Real Madrid stars.
