Positive Thiago Alcantara injury update delivered
Anfield Watch
Liverpool midfielder Thiago Alcantara could return to playing action for the Reds in the fourth round of the FA Cup, according to assistant manager Pep Lijnders.
The Reds head to Arsenal tomorrow night in the EFL Cup, and Lijnders, as has been tradition for these competitions, was taking the press conference on Wednesday afternoon.
Indeed, he often heads up pressers for cup games and will likely do the same when we face Cardiff, with them our opponents in the FA Cup fourth round.
That said, Thiago could be involved in the game against the Bluebirds after this update from Lijnders:
Thiago will be a welcome sight when he is back in the side, given the quality he has.
The Reds were really starting to see what he could do before this latest injury, and hopefully he will be able to stay knock free for the remainder of the campaign once he returns.
He'll be itching to win something this year, and the FA Cup would certainly look good among his many trophies.
