AC Milan and Porto are unlikely to use tonight’s game as a chance to speak about playmaker Jesus Corona again, according to one journalist.

Milan were heavily linked with a move for Corona in mid-August when they were searching for a player who could both be the back-up to Brahim Diaz and play on the right wing if necessary too. Calciomercato.com reported earlier today that the Mexico international did not end up joining as the asking price of €12-13m was considered too high by Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara.

A loan was not a viable path because Corona’s contract expires in June and has not been renewed his deal, so tonight he will face Milan as an opponent with the Rossoneri having signed Junior Messias from Crotone on deadline day instead.

Francisco Sebe of O Jogo was asked about Jesus Corona by TMW, and he revealed that new talks tonight are unlikely.

“I don’t think the two clubs will talk about him again tonight, I think all the parties will be concentrated on the match. It matters a lot. In addition, Corona could leave on a free transfer at the end of the season if he does not renew,” he said.
