Portugal’s unsuccessful World Cup squad arrived back in Lisbon on Monday to something of a heroes welcome.

Cristiano Ronaldo and co touched down in the Portuguese capital after bowing out of Russia on Saturday evening.

But despite their underwhelming exit, the squad were still given a rapturous reception as hundreds gathered to see their boys back on home soil.

Many of the team stopped for selfies with supporters and then received a thunderous applause.

Portugal will now go into Euro 2020 looking to keep hold of their crown.
