Scorers: Fernandes 42′, 90+1, Ronaldo 44′, Cancelo 86′.

The hosts were dominant from kick-off and should’ve taken the lead earlier through Liverpool forward Diogo Jota who missed two good opportunities in the opening 15 mins.

First the 24-year-old fired just wide from the left-hand side of the box before heading over from six yards out after being picked out by João Cancelo.

But Fernando Santos’ side were not to be denied for long and it was Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes who broke the deadlock who buried another cross by Cancelo from 14 yards out.

Fernandes then turned provider two minutes later, playing in Cristiano Ronaldo who hit a left-footed driver under Israel goalkeeper Ofir Marciano.

Cancelo rounded off an exceptional performance with a sweet finish on his left foot four minutes of time before Fernandes added his second with a right-footed curler from the edge of the box in the closing stages.

Portugal kick off their Euro 2020 campaign against Hungary in Budapest on Tuesday.
