Portsmouth have completed the signing of attacking midfielder Jemima Dahou on a free transfer.

Pompey announced the news via a post on their official club website this evening.

The 19-year-old joins Portsmouth after leaving former club Blackburn Rovers earlier this summer. Dahou became surplus to requirements at Ewood Park following the Lancashire club’s decision to withdraw from the professional game.

In her youth, Dahou was on the books of Barclays Women’s Super League club Manchester City. The youngster was invited to train with the senior squad and she was given her first team debut for The Cityzens by the club’s former boss Gareth Taylor.

Dahou joined Blackburn Rovers on a dual-registration arrangement in 2023 which gave her the opportunity of more regular first team football. The player joined Blackburn Rovers on a permanent basis last summer.

After adding Dahou to his Portsmouth squad, head coach Jay Sadler said “We’re delighted to bring Jemima to Portsmouth. She’s a natural talent who really impressed against us on the final day last season.

“She will bring a different option to our midfield, she’s a visionary player who sees and plays the game with real grace and intelligence.

“I’m genuinely excited to start working with her and supporting her development moving forward.”

Further Portsmouth squad news will be revealed in due course.
