Porto defender Pepe on Liverpool frustration: I tried to stay on

Porto defender Pepe was left frustrated after their Champions League defeat at Liverpool.

The veteran went into the game carrying an injury and was forced off despite starting.

He said, "We took some options that weren't the best in finishing. I'm happy for the 200th game but sad that we didn't come out the winners.

"I had felt an injury from Tuesday to Wednesday, I worked very hard to be able, as quickly as possible, to help the team. It was a long time ago when I felt [the pain], I tried to force it to see if the pain would ease a little, but unfortunately it was not possible."
