Following a two-year loan spell with Major League Soccer’s Portland Timbers, Paraguay international midfielder Cristhian Paredes has officially joined the MLS side from Club América.
Portland announced today through social media that they have acquired the 21-year-old on a permanent basis for an undisclosed fee.
“Cristhian has been an important component of our roster and we made it a priority to have him back on the team,” Timbers managerGiovanni Savarese said.
“He’s a two-way player who covers a lot of ground. He’s a player with a very high ceiling in this league.”
Paredes only featured twice for América in Copa MX play after joining for an undisclosed fee from Paraguayan outfit Sol de América in 2017.
Paredes has appeared 48 times for the Timbers so far, scoring five goals and adding four assists.
